Kangari

Kangari deserves a place at the Highbridge in respect of the ethos of conservation. Kangari is a non-hunting forest reserve located in Sierra Leone. It became a forest reserve in 1924 and is presently home to an important forest wildlife community, including forest and savanna dependent birds and chimpanzees. It is one of the few places in Africa where the endangered forest elephant is still allowed to survive unhinged. Kangari brings home the fragile nature of our flora and fauna and the quest to preserve their pristineness for the future.
